The 66th Annual Arkansas Dairy Foods Contest is sponsored during June Dairy Month by Arkansas Farm Bureau and the Arkansas Dairy Cooperative Association. The contest is divided into two categories: Main Dish and Party Ideas. This document contains full contest rules and application.

Arkansas produces just under 50% of the nation’s rice each year, and this contest is designed to introduce budding chefs to rice as a crop and as a versatile diet staple. Students aged 9-18 or in the 4th through 12th grades as of January 1, 2023, and living in Arkansas may enter. Home-schooled students are welcome to enter. Contestants will compete in one of two categories: Main Dish and Party Ideas.

This summer’s drought continued into early fall resulting in water levels on the Mississippi River declining to their lowest levels since 1988. Water levels are so low that barge traffic, our country’s leading transportation method for grain and many other materials, has nearly come to a standstill. The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) annually conducts a Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Achievement Award competition. Selection of the winning YF&R competitor is based on his/her efforts in production agriculture and leadership achievement.

The Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Excellence in Agriculture Award competition is designed as an opportunity for young farmers and ranchers to earn recognition, while actively contributing and growing though their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture.

There will now be two rounds of Achievement Award (AA) and Excellence in Ag Award (EA) competitions. In the preliminary round, applicants will fill out an Arkansas specific application due January 31st.
