Evan Teague has been named Vice President of Environmental Issues at Arkansas Farm Bureau, where he will focus on the intersection of agricultural and environmental issues. He previously served the organization as Vice President of Commodity and Regulatory Affairs. John Bailey will assume responsibilities as Vice President of Commodity and Regulatory Affairs and will have management responsibility for the employees who direct the state’s commodity checkoff programs, Farm Bureau’s economic research, as well as state and federal regulatory analysis.
Arkansas Farm Bureau has announced opposition to Issues 1 and 4 in the upcoming general election, while supporting Issue 2, which would provide a higher threshold for items to be added to the state constitution.
Tyler Oxner has joined the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation as a director of Commodity Activities and Economics. He will provide economic and regulatory guidance as well as be the staff coordinator with the organization’s Aquaculture, Forestry, and Wheat and Feed Grains commodity divisions.

The third annual Diversity in Agriculture Conference will be held Sept. 14 at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Little Rock. The conference is an effort to expand the awareness of the career and business opportunities that exist in agriculture and provide information on resources available to agriculture producers of all sizes to help improve or maximize their operations.
Ten-year-old Kemmer Gurley of Brinkley (Monroe County) and 17-year-old Pablo Velasco Moya, also of Brinkley, are the winners of the 2022 Arkansas Farm Bureau Rice is Nice Youth Cooking Contest. Both are members of Monroe County 4-H.
Chad Hooten has been hired as Public Relations Specialist at the Arkansas Farm Bureau, the state’s largest agriculture advocacy organization. He will work as a multi-media storyteller as part of the organization’s efforts to promote agriculture policy and heighten awareness concerning the value and importance of Arkansas agriculture.
The Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation announced Mark Lambert has been named Director of State Affairs in the Public Affairs & Government Relations department. Lambert previously worked in Arkansas Farm Bureau’s Commodity & Regulatory Affairs department as a Director of Commodity Activities and Economics.
The roughly two-month dry period during the summer of 2022 has been the worst drought in 10 years. While it has had an impact on all Arkansans, the drought has hit livestock and hay producers across the state especially hard.
