The Women’s Leadership Committee from Lee County is the Outstanding County Women’s Program award winner for 2023. The group was recognized Nov. 30 during Arkansas Farm Bureau’s 89th Annual Conference at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. Committee chair Kerry Stiles accepted the award for Lee County.
Arkansas Farm Bureau recognized Addison Safley of Searcy High School in White County as its Outstanding Ag Educator. Hampton High School’s Zach Hammack earned the Outstanding New Ag Educator Award, and Harrison High School grabbed the top spot as the Outstanding Ag Education Program. All were recognized Nov. 29 at Farm Bureau’s 89th Annual Convention at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
Michael Lee of Conway is the 2023 recipient of the Stanley E. Reed Leadership Award from the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation. Lee accepted the award Nov. 30 during the organization’s 89th annual conference at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. Meet the 2023 East Central District FFOY, the Cain Family of Griffithville (White County). Brandon and Samantha Cain have been farming for 20 years. They grow corn and soybeans on 2,120 acres. They have three children: Jacob, Shelby and Brady.
Meet the 2023 North Central District FFOY, the McJunkins Family of Dennard (Van Buren County). Adam and Darla McJunkins have been farming for 29 years. They raise feeder calves and grow hay on 92 acres. They have three daughters: Sammy, Lacey Belle and Katie
Meet the 2023 Northeast District FFOY, the Donner Family of Manila (Mississippi County). TheAllen and Debbie Donner have been farming for 43 years. They grow cotton, corn, soybeans and peanuts on 3,100 acres. They have three adult children: Heath, Adam and Katie.
Arkansas Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom partnered with the University of Central Arkansas Dietetic Internship Program to tour Simon Beef Farm and Simon Brothers Dairy in Conway on November 13. The interns were able to see first hand how both operate and where their beef and milk comes from.
