Joel and Amanda Whisenhunt hit the ground running when they purchased their farm in 2001. They have continued to build their operation and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. They're also raising their kids -- the next generation of farmers -- to have the same passion for and dedication to agriculture. Joel and Amanda, and their children Hayden, Lauren and Caleb, are the 2016 Howard County Farm Family of the Year and the 2016 West Central District Farm Family of the Year.
Jason Henson, who raises swine on C&H Farm in Mount Judea, is the 2016 recipient of the Stanley E. Reed Leadership Award from the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation. Henson accepted the award from Farm Bureau President Randy Veach and Charlene Reed, Stanley’s widow.
