The 2014 Farm Bill transferred responsibility to oversee inspection of imported catfish from the Food and Drug Administration to the Department of Agriculture. It took until this year for that transition to take place. Now, efforts are underway in the U.S. Senate to return oversight of foreign catfish inspections to FDA.
